Tomoyoshi

In store for today was a trip to Tomoyoshi, up past Shin-Osaka. They make a variety of thick ramen and tsukemen, and I ordered the tsukemen laden with toppings.

今回新大阪より北にある「麺道 ともよし」に行ってきました。いろんな濃厚なラーメンとつけ麺を提供していて、特製つけ麺にしました。

The Bowl
A good gyokai tonkotsu, maybe even a little lighter than standard. The noodles were fat and springy, and the chashu was tender and soaked in shoyu.

標準よりちょっとあっさりとして、うまい魚介とんこつでした。麺は太って、腰がありました。チャーシューは柔らかくて、醤油角煮となりました。

Mazeru

Just out getting drinks with a friend, but where better than a Taiwan maze soba shop? I got a drink at Mazeru and ordered the standard Taiwan Maze Soba.

友達と飲みに行くには、台湾まぜそば屋さんでいいですよね？まぜるで何か飲んで、定番の台湾まぜそばを注文しました。

The Bowl
Just what I wanted: not too strong, but with a bit of spice and glazed noodles. Good to eat when sober, and good drunk too!

その気分でぴったりでした。濃すぎなく、ピリ辛でつるっとした卵がかかった麺。素面でも、酔っぱらってもおすすめ！

Welcome to Friends in Ramen, the mad ramblings and reviews of a ramen-obsessed New Yorker who has somehow found himself in Osaka.  I've created this blog for foreigners in Osaka who want to eat good ramen, English speakers abroad who want to eat vicariously in the great east, or anyone else who wants to stop by.

I've tried to keep my ramen shop reviews in a consistent format; there's locational information along with a photo of the outside of the shop, and tags describing the style and location.  If you're looking for something particular, give it a search, or otherwise browse with pleasure!
